Madame Web Movie Review: Is the movie bad? Heck, NO. (Sony Pictures Malaysia)
I had a blast! For once, I think the critics at Rottentomatoes are clueless; they must have been expecting some Avengers-level action to give this movie such a low rating.
Is the movie bad? Heck, NO.
I was hooked by the clever storytelling, the witty banter between the three future Spiderwomen and the straightforward plots. It did a great job of introducing us to Cassie Webb as a psychic and showing us the full extent of her power.
This movie doesn’t have the flashy CGIs that most superhero movies have, because psychic powers are not physical, duh. So you only get to see the same scenes over and over again. But I liked the trippy vibe from the visuals. It showed how her power evolved from seeing the future to messing with it.
I’m giving it a 3.0+0.5 (out of 5). The 0.5 is for the cute cameo of Baby Peter Parker here.
Can’t wait for the sequel.
