Ulasan filem BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99 (2017)

This is probably the most violent film I've ever seen in Malaysian theatres. I loved it.

Vince Vaughn completely sheds his comedy skin to play a ferocious beast disguised as a man, brutally fighting his way through several levels of prison to save those close to him.

Writer and director S. Craig Zahler knows what he's doing and goes for it. He starts the story very slowly, letting us know the characters as they progress into further trouble. Once our hero enters prison during the second hour, that's when he starts to push the film into full force with the darkness and depravity.

Zahler did the same thing with his previous film, the equally insane 2015 horror/western "Bone Tomahawk" starring Kurt Russell. He is a filmmaker to look out for.

Can't wait to see Zahler and Vince's next film "Dragged Across Concrete", with Mel Gibson next year.

See it if you can stomach the extreme violence during the film's finale.
